Child Safety Standards
KommUnitea (“KommUnitea”, “we”, “us”) is committed to keeping our community safe. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out our standards against CSAE and how anyone can report a concern to us.
1. Our commitment
The KommUnitea Service is not directed at children: you must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and accounts we find to belong to someone younger are removed. We prohibit any content or conduct that sexualises, endangers, or exploits minors, and we act quickly to remove it, remove the people responsible, and report to the appropriate authorities.
2. What is not allowed
The following are strictly prohibited on KommUnitea:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexualises a minor.
- Grooming, enticement, sextortion, or any attempt to sexually exploit a minor.
- Sharing, requesting, or facilitating access to such material.
- Any other content or behaviour that endangers the safety or wellbeing of a child.
3. How we prevent abuse
- Audience and access. The Service is built for adults organising real-world communities and events, with a minimum age of 18. Communities can be open, gated behind admin approval, or invite-only, and can be restricted to members whose organisation affiliation we have verified.
- Reporting and blocking. Every user-generated item — profiles, messages, events, photos, and announcements — can be reported, and any user can be blocked, from within the app.
- Moderation. Reports are reviewed and actioned, and community organisers have tools to moderate their spaces. Accounts that violate these standards are removed.
4. How to report a concern
You can report child safety concerns in two ways:
- In the app — use the report option available on any profile, message, event, photo, or announcement, or block a user directly.
- By email — contact our safety point of contact at hello@kommunitea.app. Please include as much detail as you safely can so we can act quickly.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or law-enforcement authorities first.
5. How we respond
When we become aware of CSAE or CSAM, we:
- Remove the content promptly and preserve relevant evidence as required by law.
- Remove the accounts involved and take action to prevent recurrence.
- Report to the relevant authorities, including regional and national child-protection bodies and, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), in line with applicable law.
6. Compliance
We comply with applicable child safety laws and cooperate with law-enforcement and child-protection authorities. These standards apply to everyone who uses KommUnitea.
